My love for weather started when I was about five years old when I discovered the Weather Channel during Hurricane Katrina coverage. As a kid, I was amazed that clouds could come together to form a huge storm. From there, I would watch shows on severe weather, the local news and the clouds outside. After my interest started to lean towards weather, my father would pull up the radar whenever a storm moved through the area. Fast forward to 2008 when Storm Chasers premiered on Discovery Channel. That was where I learned people drive thousands of miles a year to chase what I saw on TV and on the radar. Watching Reed Timmer and Sean Casey chase tornadoes and film them boomed my interest in weather. After annoying my parents to take me to an IMAX theater to watch Sean's film Tornado Alley, I was amazed at what I saw and wanted to be them. A passion was born!
A dream of mine was to travel around the United States. The phrase "Live A Great Story" made me rethink what I love to do. Storms, hiking, running and photgraphy along the way were my passions and I wanted to do things that would make a great chapter in my life's book. In 2021 I decided to start an ambitious chapter and make the dream of a road trip around the nation a reality. I spent that entire summer chasing storms, traveling the country and training for my upcoming season in Division One Cross Country. I visited 14 national parks, saw 4 tornadoes, countless beautiful storms and saw most of the beautiful United States of America all while living in the back of my Subaru Forester. There was not a day that went by that I did not enjoy this trip. Waking up in a new place every day to meet new people, seeing beautiful landscapes and running about 10 miles a day on goregeous paths was the dream I had thought of since I was in high school.
Today, I still chase storms, travel the country and photograph what I see. I have spent the past few summers driving across the US in search of the most powerful storms on the planet to document and share the power of nature to the world. In the future, I plan to chase as much as I can in Tornado Alley, on the coast for hurricane season and in Arizona during the monsoon season. Also, I want to backpack long trails in the USA including the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and the Great American Rail Trail (Across the USA) when it is complete. (A thru-hike for the Appalachian Trail is in my plan for the summer of 2023!) My ambition for adventure and pursuit to document the extreme powers of nature will live on as I try to "Live A Great Story". This website showcases some of the photos I have taken during my travels. It showcases what I love and what I want to continue for the rest of my life.
